MAPCS has an open enrollment policy. Students are accepted regardless of background or academic record on a first-come, first-served basis. To apply for admission, please complete and submit the application to the school you wish to attend. If more students apply than spaces are available, students will be admitted by lottery.

FAQs: MAPCS Admission Policy
- What grade levels are offered at MAPCS?
MAPCS-Evans Middle School Campus offers grades 6-8. MAPCS-Evans High School Campus offers grades 9-12.
- How old do I have to be to enroll at MAPCS? Students attending our middle school campus must be 10 years of age by September 30 of the year in which they are enrolling. Our middle school cannot accept any student who is 15 years of age or older at the time of enrollment. Students attending our high school campuses must be 14 years of age or older by September 30 of the year in which they are enrolling. Our high schools cannot accept any student who is 18 years of age or older at the time of enrollment.
- Can I attend high school at MAPCS if I have not passed the 9th grade?
Yes, if you are at least 14 years old we will work with you and your family to decide whether transitioning into MAPCS is right for you.
- Can I come to MAPCS just for my senior year?
No, students must attend MAPCS for at least two years. If you are interested in starting as a junior, you may discuss this option with the admissions counselor.
- Do I have to be a D.C. resident to apply?
Yes, because we are a D.C. Public Charter School, you and your legal guardian must be D.C. residents to apply. (You will have to bring in proof of residency).
- When is the deadline for applications?
April 4, 2011, was our deadline and lottery date. If spaces are still available after this date, applications go on a waiting list and will be considered in the order in which they are received. The admissions counselor will discuss with you and your guardian where your name falls on the list and whether you should enroll at another school.
